Travel Tips & Information
Yes, Costa Rica is considered one of the safest countries in Central America. Like anywhere, basic awareness is recommended—secure valuables, lock doors/windows when not at the property, and use the alarm system if available.
Most travelers from the U.S., Canada, and Europe only need a valid passport with at least 6 months remaining and a return or onward ticket. No visa is required for short stays.
Costa Rica uses the Costa Rican Colón, but U.S. dollars are widely accepted. Credit cards are commonly used, though small amounts of cash are helpful for tips, taxis, and local shops.
Costa Rica is great year-round. The dry season (December–April) offers sunny weather and blue skies. The green season (May–November) brings lush landscapes, fewer crowds, and better value.
