Casa Almendra

This was exactly what we hoped for. The views of the ocean and jungle are amazing. Beautiful sunsets, lots of birds to wake up to, and all the amenities to be comfortable.
Excellent infinity style pool, and felt private.
We’d definitely stay here again!

We had such a great stay at Casa Almendra. The property is excellent, very private and has easy access to Playa Grande surfing and surrounding areas. Marcello and the concierge team were very attentive to anything we needed during our stay. Thanks for a wonderful week, we’ll be back!

This house was wonderful. Close access to playa grande beach and a bunch of great restaurants. Had a spectacular vacation and would definitely come back here. Make sure you take a moment in one of the hammocks to enjoy the beautiful views.

We loved the location, and the house had everything we needed! Communication with the concierge was stellar too. He made everything easy. Jungle views are incredible. Be sure to buy a taco from Taco Star at la playa.

The location of this house is impeccable. Tucked away on the side of the hill, you can see out to the ocean. The pool and giant covered deck have amazing views. The property is positioned in such a way that no one can even see you.. very private / serene spot

This place is a little slice of heaven. If you enjoy having your morning coffee on the back porch, with views of the ocean and the sounds of birds and howler monkeys, you will love this place. It’s a 3-minute drive to a quiet, beautiful beach the most amazing sunsets as well as a few delicious restaurants. The pool is perfect for first thing in the morning or after a day of beach/sightseeing. There is plenty of room for a family or two. The area is quiet and off the beaten path, but close enough to stores, and many fabulous beaches. The hosts are lovely and responsive but will not bother you if you don’t need anything. I absolutely loved our stay.

Has arguably the best view overlooking playa grande in the area with the position of the house. The gardens surrounding the house are beautiful and well maintained, and constructionwise I appreciate that the foundation of the house does little to damage the ground and the surrounding area like many others in the area.. this meant a closer connection to nature, inside outside living (AC and entire house stayed cool if needed, but also doors opened if you wanted AC off). I thought the house seemed bigger than in the pictures, and accommodated our family of 4 nicely: our 7 year old really loved the pool and rafts, my mother and father the lounge chairs, my wife the hammocks, and myself the 5 minute drive to the beach to surf my brains out.

Working with Keith was fantastic. He was responsive and accommodating.

The place itself is stunning with incredible views. It's extremely private, which was perfect for me. It is pretty far back and up on the mountain, which affords a stunning horizon to gaze on at sunset, but it also can be a little scary at night if you're alone like I was. The home is gated and every door has a lock on it, and you control the key for it, so I felt very safe.

The conceirge, Marcelo, was very responsive when I needed help with things. I was sent a gate and lockbox code because he had other people to check in the day I arrived, but I was able to figure everything out and get in just fine.

Thank you for letting me stay here. I would absolutely stay again.

This place is a slice of paradise! Situated on a hillside in Playa Grande, you have incredible views of the ocean and surroundings. You're also in a private area well off the road below where you can fully experience the sounds and sights of nature. The house is beautiful and extremely clean. It's well laid out and efficient. The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals. Bedrooms and bedding were all very comfortable, and the bathrooms were clean and modern with great showers. While there is plenty to do in the area, some days it's nice to just enjoy the house and its infinity edge pool. There are several really good restaurants just a short drive down the hill. And you have the best beaches all within striking distance on any given day, including Minas, Pirates, Conchas, and Flamingo. Overall, this place was beyond exceptional. Costa Rica is one of our favorite places, but staying in this house took our trip to the next level and can't wait to stay here again!

What a magical home. It really felt like we were nestled in the jungle of Playa grande. We even saw monkeys in the trees while we were swimming in the pool.

Just a short drive to the beach which was very convenient as we have kids. Lots of restaurants in the area to try. There is a super market super close which we went to often.

We loved the layout of the home. We could open the pocket doors when we wanted to be indoor/outdoor. The rooftop was great for playing cards and watching the sunset.

It felt like home at the end and we didn’t want to leave. We will definitely be back!

The house was perfect for our family. It has a nice safe and private feel at the top of the hill. Amazing views with monkeys, especially at sunset. The kitchen is well equipped to cook at home. The beds are comfortable and each room has its own air-condition. There are uber taxis in the area but we were glad to have a rental car. Kieth gave us great recommendations for different beaches to explore in the area. We hope to come back and stay here again next year!

Surrounded by lush nature and tropical plants, it feels like a private oasis. The ocean view and sunsets are breathtaking, and the peaceful sounds of nature make it a perfect retreat. The pool is clean, refreshing, and a great spot to relax and take in the beauty of Playa Grande. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a tranquil getaway!

Keith’s Villa is great!
However, we booked for 7 people and when we get there only 3 double beds were ready.
When we inform the host about it we have been told where to find the bed sheets and to prepare the sofa bed by ourselves..

Alojamiento muy hermoso y con todas las comodidades, el anfitrión siempre muy flexible y anuente en brindarte ayuda. La vista del lugar es preciosa sin duda, algunos detalles mínimos pero esto no afecta en nada tu estadía. Regresaríamos sin duda alguna.

We had a great 5 night stay at this property. It is a beautiful house with lots of great outdoor space. The 2 decks are perfect and spacious, and a great pool that was a perfect temperature with amazing views, and some naps were taken in the hammock on the upper deck. It is up a gravel road a bit into the hills, but it's an easy drive to the beach where we found plenty of parking. Our first day was a Sunday and it was peaceful and quiet except for the occasional roar of the howler monkeys. There are a few houses still being built close by, so there was some noise from that the rest of the days but it wasn't too bad and a little music drowned it right out. AC was needed and worked well, kitchen was well appointed with everything you need. Marcelo was our point of contact and was very helpful with questions and also helped us line up some great beach horseback riding. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and would stay here again.

Agréable séjour à la casa et retour rapide de l’hôte lorsque nécessaire!
Tout était propre et bien rangé. Toutes les commodités sont fonctionnels à l’intérieur (air climatisé, laveuse, sécheuse etc) Avisé lors des visites pour le ménage qui se faisait à 8h30 le matin.
La vue de la casa est magnifique tel qu’indiqué dans la description de l’endroit. Environnement tranquille et boisé en montagne. Noter que l’emplacement de la Casa dans la description n’est pas situé au bon endroit. Vous devez prendre un véhicule pour vous rendre à la plage qui est à plus ou moins 5 à 10 minutes en véhicule. Je tiens également à souligner qu’il y a construction d’une casa dans le secteur amenant du va et vient et du bruit durant le jour. De toute façon vous n’y échapperez pas car Playa Grande est en plein développement immobilier et il y a de la construction partout! Bref le séjour fut agréable malgré tous et si vous désirez être à l’écart et avoir de la tranquillité le soir vous êtes au bon endroit!

Unfortunately it’s mapped near ripjack inn near the beach - you can not walk it - if you stay here you definitely at least one car - maybe two if you have more then two people staying here

The house was absolutely amazing. It had everything we needed. The pool had a beautiful ocean view. Marcelo facilitated surfing lessons and fishing which was so appreciated. We enjoyed our stay and plan on returning.

Location of house is amazing. Beautiful and unobstructed views of ocean and mountains. Beach is 5 minute drive down the road, recommend parking in front of Rip Jacks for secure parking and great food after surf.

Cons:Bed configuration is incorrect-there are 2 queens and a double(no kings).Air conditioner in the primary bedroom works well but makes very loud noises that made it impossible to sleep with it running.Keith was responsive but it wasn't fixed during our stay (at our request as the team did not come to fix it when they originally said they would).House lost water a couple of times (fixed within a couple of hours).Located in a newer development which meant lots of construction noise during the day as houses are being built close by. Made it difficult to enjoy the pool at some points.Didn't feel like it was worth the current nightly rate considering the issues (and we have stayed in over 10 Airbnb properties throughout CR over the past few years)

There were a few mechanical issues with the house. Keith was very responsive and quickly solved the problems. This was especially impressive as even though this was between Christmas and New Years, he was still able to get the right people out to do the repairs.

The house is excelente, we didn’t have to much time to enjoy better I love The house

The house was immaculate. Spacious, modern and has everything you could need. Amazing views. Keith and his team were absolutely fantastic. Great communication. A lot of care was given to the property. We appreciated the small details and had a fantastic time!

Exc lugar , cerca de todo , se ve como en las fotos, vistas increíbles, súper limpio, tiene de todo, volvería sin pensarlo, nos atrasamos con el check in por motivos que se salieron de nuestro control y la persona que nos recibió lo entendió.

This is a stunning house. The views are incredible. It was pure magic to wake up and have those fantastic views from the bed!!
The house is really well equipped with quality appliances and utensils.
Keith and Marcelo were both very friendly and made sure our time in Playa Grande was good.
You’ll need a car in order to stay here as it’s a bit of a way from the mais street, but nothing major. The house is a 7 minutes drive from the beach.
