Flamingo, Costa Rica

Flamingo is stunning even by Costa Rica standards with clear blue water, lagoons, vegetation and countless activities for the entire family. Known for their stunning fine white sand beaches, Flamingo has been the go-to destination for Costa Ricans and tourists for decades.

While Tamarindo may be the most developed beach town in Guanacaste, if you’re a sport fisher, Flamingo is the place to be. Flamingo, Costa Rica has the only full service marina between Acapulco and Panama on the Pacific coast of Central America.

You’ll find some of the world’s best deep sea fishing in Flamingo. Marlin, tuna, mahi mahi, sailfish, roosterfish, swordfish and snapper can be found off Costa Rica’s waters all year round and the Costa Rican Amateur Fishermen’s Club sponsors international sailfish tournaments every July.

Flamingo also has a ton of water sports in addition to sport fishing. Scuba diving is available year round where divers can swim with white-fin sharks, turtles, tropical fish and marine life. Visitors can also book sailing and diving expeditions to nearby Plata Island just off the coast of Guanacaste. Plata Island is a small island off Guanacaste with great diving conditions- divers routinely encounter thousands of fish and wildlife, from turtles to snappers and schools of fish flowing all around them. Flamingo is also close to Santa Rosa National Park. The first and largest national park in Costa Rica, Santa Rosa is part of the Guanacaste Conservation Area and protects one of the last dry tropical forests in the world.

Flamingo is home to some of the most beautiful condos and private residences in Guanacaste. At Grande Vacation Rentals, we can help you find the perfect home away from home for your Costa Rican adventure.
